Abstract:

This docmented a meeting of the community volunteer group ‘Coalition of Residents for the Environment’ (C.O.R.E.) since at the time ‘The Friends of Katoomba Falls Creek Valley’ (‘The Friends’) group, although a registered organisation, was not yet an incorporated association. Founder of The Friends, Neil Stuart was the Chairperson and also a member of C.O.R.E. and Carolyn Williams (also a member of C.O.R.E.) spoke to the meeting and it was agreed that The Friends could align with C.O.R.E. in a part functional capacity and benefit from the legal protection of C.O.R.E., etc.

A total of fifteen local residents attended, who had informally joined The Friends came together at the meeting. The record of the meeting is detailed and clear.

This record of meeting minutes document was the very first time the Friends logo was used.
