This 3 page document was tabled at the very first public meeting organised by prior discussions by two prior meetings of residents of The Valley (respectively on Sunday 15-Oct-1989, and Sunday 19-Nov 1989 – both held at the large shed) specifically about environmental matters concerning Katoomba Falls Creek Valley.
The public meeting was called by the informal resident group as part of the formation of what would collectively become The Friends of Katoomba Falls Creek Valley. That public meeting was held at Blue Mountains Council’s Civic Centre in Katoomba Street.
The document contains four distinct parts:
- Six proposed actions (terms of reference) to initiate an environmental study into The Valley
- The residents to form The Friends of Katoomba Falls Creek Valley and become members of such
- A statement of the aims of The Friends (numbering five)
- A multi-faceted proposal to form a “working group” to carry out resident actions as agreed by the members of The Friends
This seminal document is defining of The Friends.
