By 1997, a decade after forming in 1989, the Working Group of The Friends came to realise that the workload of producing press releases and/or a newsletter on even a quarterly basis and then letterbox distributing it was an unsustainable burden.
Only one press release and one newsletter exist in this archive of The Friends.
On Sunday 16th February 1997, the Working Group (“WG”) met at one of its usual meetings held generally once evey two months. Minutes of that meeting show at Item 4 below the matter concerning campaign publicity options discussed. There were only three attendees.
